Who remembers the days when GetResponse were just a mailing list outfit?

Not any longer. The launch of AutoFunnels underlines the pivot of the company into territory previously dominated by ClickFunnels, LeadPages and Instapage.

Sure, GetResponse still offers a mailing list solution, and with over 350,000 customers, they remain one of the biggest and longest established players in the market.

However, the company is on a mission to expand its marketing automation suite, and by adding Autofunnels into the mix, Simon Grabowski and his team are making a statement of intent: GetResponse wants a slice of that ClickFunnels generated sales process hype.

I had initially planned a product review for this blog but missed the webinar for the AutoFunnels launch. The demo time slot translated to 2 am in Australia, and despite every attempt to roll out bed, it went down as a failed mission.

Fortunately, GetResponse has put a recording of the webinar up on Youtube for public consumption.

As with most webinars, the first few minutes are a cyber group hug as attendees log in to the session. After a few minutes, the real business of the day takes precedence.

The software allows users to choose from over 30 professionally-designed and conversion-optimized scenarios designed to sell, build contact lists, showcase your offers, and grow a business.

I haven’t had a chance to test the new funnels properly yet, but initial signs look fairly promising.

The one thing GetResponse is still lacking on the web builder is the ability to add additional pages to the landing page and thank-you pages. Leadpages and ClickFunnels both allow extra pages.

The advantages it does hold over the competition is the mailing list suite. Most rivals in the field rely on third-party integrations with software like GetResponse to handle that piece of the sales funnel jigsaw. With GetResponse it’s integral.
